Last year, I was busy doing this and this. A few days later, I did this. I finished my thesis, and grad school was done!
Looking back at these photos, all I can think is what a difference a year makes. So much has changed– yet it seems like only weeks ago I was nervously practicing and preparing for my final review.
COME TOGETHER, this year’s MFA design show opens Thursday evening (tonight!) at CCA. From the look of things, this is going to be a great show.
COME TOGETHER is a celebration of the collective work of 31 disparate designers, linked by the practice of transdisciplinary design. It is an event, two years in the making, in which our unique lines of thought, processes, and methodologies converge and intersect in one final exhibition.
Are you tired of thesis posts yet? Oh good, me neither. My mom and Pam arrive tomorrow, just in time for an indulgent mani/pedi to cure/disguise my ugly finger situation (yeah, I slammed my finger in a door a few weeks ago, and I am refusing to let this nail fall off) and then we’re off to to see presentations and the MFA opening at CCA, followed by dinner and drinks, and maybe a rehearsal of my presentation. Oh, and then I present my thesis on Friday at 1:40, and then I am really done with grad school. I really need to remember to pick up my cap and gown tomorrow.
by 2PM today, I’ll be a Master.
My presentation is rehearsed, my family is here, and the champagne is in the fridge. Goodbye grad school!
