Today is my sister’s birthday, and she is flying into SFO tonight for a couple days, for our first ever SISTER TRIP. No mom, no Intern, no chaperone…no one to tell us to be quiet or go to bed (Secret: We don’t really need anyone to tell us to go to bed… the two of us LOVE to go to bed early). We have never taken a trip together, just the two of us (except for some unfortunate cross-country flights as unchaperoned minors, but don’t nobody want to remember that nose-bleedy, vomity, matching velvet and lace dress mess). ANYWAY! we’re grown ups now, and we’re taking off on a road trip down the coast to visit a castle, tour some wineries, visit the beach, celebrate Pam’s birthday, and tire ourselves out with good scenery, good jokes, and hopefully, good sleep.

We were inspired by my lady-friend Kate Harmer, when we started to plan this sister trip last Christmas. It is last year’s Christmas gift to each other, so this whole year has been like one giant Christmas tease, waiting for September to get here. We’re packing lots of snacks, and we’re heading out tomorrow morning. I’ll be back next week with tales from the other side of our maiden sister trip! Want to know more about my Pam? Check out these Pam-posts!

Ah man, I wish I had a sister!
If you’d asked me in high school, I would have given you my sister!
So fun. I love Pam in that sweater. Your mom is such a good photographer.
I remember that sweater… I’m sure we both wore it. All those 80′s hearts, but my favorite part of this photo is her happy little extra chin!
