This week has been a blur. A busy week for Skill Exchange, plus a recently launched design project, and a highly condensed few days of catching up with my good friend Michelle. We had two-ish years worth of talking, laughing and connecting to do, and only a few days to do it before she flew back to Seattle, and soon after, back to her home in France. There were cocktails, a hike in the woods, a picnic at the beach, lots of cat-talk, music-sharing and touring the city… smashed between meetings, design revisions, ticket releases and endless emails to respond to. Oh, and a very serious meeting mid-week, where the team got together to strategize and fold napkins in fancy ways for our upcoming party at The Bold Italic.
Skill Exchange received some very nice attention this week from Refinery29 and mentions by SFGIRLBYBAY and Natalie of Natalie Bowen Designs this week. Thank you ladies! Did I mention tickets are still available for all 13 workshops, plus the free launch party?
And lastly, (I meant to share this earlier in the week) I recently completed a redesign project for Merch in lower Haight. Merch is a San Francisco-based boutique of women’s clothing, jewelry, stationery and gifts. When we first moved to San Francisco I participated in an art show there, and got to know the owner and her assistants very well. Some of my favorite items of clothing are from Merch, and I always know I can find the perfect card or gift for friends when I visit the shop. I was thrilled when Merch asked me to be part of their redesign.. Merch has always been a great supporter of my work as well, and are currently carrying a handful of my printed goods. This was a very fun project to be part of, and if you’d like to check out Merch’s new logo, visit my sadly neglected portfolio, or the newly launched shop-merch.com.
That is it, thats all the news and loose ends for the week. Intern and I are off this morning for a weekend in Tahoe with a bunch of business people… and I’m not taking any work with me! We’re planning to do a bit of kayaking and maybe even some jet-skiing too… and some good napping on the beach.
