We found this wood trunk a few months ago at an Old Hat sale. The trunk has two built in lift-out storage bins inside, plus plenty of room for our collection of board games and a few throw blankets too. With a remnant piece of navy-eggplant cotton canvas I found at Discount Fabric for only $3.44, we made a cushion cover in a couple hours, all while listening to the Mary Poppins soundtrack on vinyl. Yes. We really did buy that recently, and yes, we really do listen to it.
Anyway, Intern had his first sewing lesson, and provided some excellent interning-skills while I worked on the harder parts of the project. We added a zipper in the back, and ties to keep the cushion in place, just in case some crazy cat tries to take off with it in the night.
The cats love the new cushion. Now they can sit and look out the window in extreme comfort.
