psycho-geography

24 Feb

Over the weekend I went out on a dérive with three classmates. Basically,a dérive is an attempt at analysis of the totality of everyday life, through the passive movement through space.

Easy enough, right? We tried to drift without the aid of maps, with only our emotions to guide us. We documented our experience through photos, sketching and notes.

We looked in windows, and we walked down streets. We wandered and documented, and explored outer sunset.

We found ourselves a happy patch of fake grass (which I had to touch to believe). After all that psycho-geography, we wandered into a pub for a beer.

Oh grad school, that is all I really can say.

I'D go to your grad school party! you wouldn't even have to leave a note under my door, your face to face invitation would be enough for me to say 'fuck yeah, we'll be there!'ps: you make me wanna go back to school…
